(CNN) Netflix has posted a Twitter thread explaining the trans themes in “The Matrix,” after one of its co-directors confirmed earlier this week that the movie was an allegory for gender transition.
Lilly Wachowski, who co-wrote and co-directed the film with her sister Lana Wachowski, told the streaming service about the intention behind the sci-fi movie in an interview posted on YouTube Tuesday.
