Fox News radio host Todd Starnes accused Southeastern Seminary of punishing a student for supporting President Donald Trump on it’s campus. The student’s mother called into Starnes’ radio show and claimed he was told to remove his “MAGA” hat because it might offend people of color. She said he was also asked to take down his Trump flag from his dorm room.
The radio interview can be listened to here.
Southeastern Seminary denied the allegations in a statement they posted on Wednesday. The statement says the student continues to display the flag based on the housing policies, was never asked to remove the hat, and is in good standing with the student.
Starnes attempted to reach out to seminary’s provost and professor of Theology Bruce Ashford to confirm the mother’s interview testimony of the seminary. After no response from the seminary, things Starnes took to Twitter, and things began to take a strong tone.
