Mary ‘Had a Choice’ in Giving Birth to Jesus, Says Catholic Abortion Rights Group

(Christian Headlines) A Catholic organization that supports abortion rights ignited a theological debate Thursday when it argued Mary “had a choice” in giving birth to Jesus and thus, all women should have that same choice, too.

Catholics for Choice, a non-profit organization that supports legalized abortion, sparked the controversy with posts on its social media pages on the same day as the Feast of the Annunciation, in which Catholics celebrate the coming of the angel Gabriel to Mary.

“Mary mother of Christ had a choice in conceiving him (sic),” a tweet from the organization read. “If Mary had a choice, you should, too!”
