(Fox News) Josh Duggar’s attorneys filed court documents on Tuesday, the day his trial is set to begin, requesting a judge prohibit a witness’s testimony.
On Monday, Nov. 29, the court held an evidentiary hearing which featured government witnesses Bobye Holt and Josh’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, delivering testimony. According to the supplemental brief, Josh’s attorneys argue that information Bobye shared consisted of conversations protected by clergy privilege.
“The testimony adduced by the parties at the evidentiary hearing reveals that any statements made to Bobye Holt and/or Jim Holt by Duggar or Jim Bob Duggar were made to them in their capacity as spiritual advisors with the expectation that the communications would be kept confidential.”
