(Sports Spectrum) Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei picked his word for the 2021 season when he was a Heisman trophy favorite leading a team expected to compete for the national title. The fact that the season didn’t go the way Uiagalelei had hoped ended up making his choice even more fitting.
“My word for this year, before this season even started, was ‘faith,’” the Clemson quarterback said (via FanNation’s All Clemson blog) after the Tigers’ 20-13 victory over Iowa State in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29. “And to be able to pick that word, and just to be able to go through the whole season, after going through this season, I know exactly why that word, and why God gave me that word.”
