A Woman Called 911 When Her Mom Didn’t Post Her Wordle Score. Turns Out, She Was Being Held Hostage.

(Relevant) Wordle has very quickly become as much a part of people’s mornings as a cup of coffee and walking the dog, with millions of people posting their daily score to social media or group chats with friends and family. In fact, it’s become so key, that many of us can’t imagine life without Wordle. And now, at least one woman can credit her daily World routine with saving her life.

A California woman grew concerned when her 80-year-old mother, Denyse Holt, failed to send her usual Wordle update. She texted her sister, who also hadn’t heard from their mother.
